DISCOVER HAWAII KAI/PORTLOCK REAL ESTATE

Away from the busy tourist life of Waikiki and downtown, Hawaii Kai is a great family neighborhood. With a diversity of homes, there is a place for everyone in Hawaii Kai. Portlock is a highly affluent and desirable neighborhood with generally large lots and beautiful homes. With beachfront properties along Portlock Road and vistas from Koko Kai, Hawaii Kai offers beaches and views all in one neighborhood. Closer to the Marina itself, the homes are also very desirable. Marina front homeowners usually buy with their boat in mind and yearly there is the highly popular Hawaii Kai Boat Parade. For more affordable homes, Kamiloiki Valley, Kalama Valley and Koko Head Terrace have remained close to the median sale price.

Hawaii Kai is a very clean town with a family atmosphere and with great access to easy grocery shopping—Costco is very conveniently located—restaurants, and some shopping all close by, making it a virtually self-sustaining neighborhood. Built up around a marina, there are many watersports to enjoy right in the area, or head to Hanauma Bay for snorkeling or Sandy’s Beach Park to watch the bodysurfing. For the more adventurous, the local favorite China Walls is a rock outcropping from which brave visitors will jump into the ocean while others can sit and enjoy the view. Hawaii Kai is very pet friendly and has a dedicated dog park for the many pet lovers who reside in the area. There are many parks and great eateries such as Pa’ina Café for the best poke bowls or Teddy’s Bigger Burger for inexpensive eats to Roy’s for a fantastic meal. There is also some great hiking in the area, the most popular being Koko Head Crater. Hawaii Kai has great homes for families and couples as well as for retirees or empty nesters. Hawaii Kai is a wonderful neighborhood for a wide variety of residents with many options for any type of home.
